At 22–26 Howard Street in North Melbourne, we were engaged to carry out critical cladding remediation works under a formal building order issued by the City of Melbourne. The focus was on replacing non-compliant materials across key façade elements, including the Level 2 canopies, west-facing balustrade, and ground floor entrance canopy. These areas presented elevated fire safety risks, requiring careful planning and execution within a live residential environment.

We began by removing all combustible cladding in accordance with the building order, following strict safety protocols and ensuring minimal disruption to residents. The replacement system utilised the Vitradual cladding range, selected for its compliance with the National Construction Code and tested fire performance. All materials and fixings were installed in line with the manufacturer's technical specifications, with no substitutions from the approved permit documentation.

Throughout the project, we worked in close consultation with building surveyors and stakeholders to manage access, compliance, and staging. Clear communication and site planning allowed us to maintain residential access while delivering a durable, code-compliant finish. The completed façade not only meets modern safety standards but also restores the visual consistency of the building.
